For years, the Smoky Mountain Carriage Club has brought together horse lovers, heritage enthusiasts, and families who share a passion for the timeless art of carriage driving.
Our History
A tradition worth preserving.
The Smoky Mountain Carriage Club was founded by a small group of East Tennessee horsemen who believed that the art of carriage driving deserved a home in the mountains. What began as informal weekend drives through the hollows and back roads of the Smokies grew into a formal club with a dedicated membership, an annual show, and a calendar full of drives that draw participants from across the region.
Over the years, the club has grown in membership and reputation while staying true to its roots — a welcoming, unpretentious gathering of people who love horses, the outdoors, and the quiet satisfaction of a well-driven carriage on a mountain road.

To promote the sport and tradition of carriage driving in the Smoky Mountain region — welcoming drivers of all experience levels, preserving the heritage of the horse-drawn vehicle, and fostering fellowship among those who love the land and the horses that carry us through it.
